HIS PASSION
Matt believes with all of his being that students can love Jesus with all of their heart and change the world for Him. That's why he's in student ministry. And that's why he goes to work everyday. He feels blessed beyond words to be able to serve the greatest group of adults and students anywhere at First Baptist Woodstock.
THE FUTURE
The high school ministry is pressing forward asking God for a fresh vision to reach nearly 40,000 public school students in Cherokee and Cobb counties. Half of the millenial generation (35 million) is 19 years old or younger. The facts are overwhelming that people come to Christ at age 20 yrs old or before. We're not satisfied with the status quo and will do whatever it takes to see students come to Jesus!
HIS FAMILY
Without a doubt, Matt is way over his head and very fortunate to have married his best friend, Laura. They currently have a son, Deacon Matthew, and a daughter, Eden Jane. Laura and Matt absolutely enjoy spending time together and ministering to students alongside each other. When Matt is on the football sidelines on Friday night, Laura is cheering in the stands. When Matt is teaching player bible study, Laura is close by preparing food for the guys. If there's an event, they're both there loving on students! When they're not with students, they love traveling anywhere close to the beach, reading about ministry and biographies, and attending/watching sporting events!
